In light of the catastrophic flooding that recently hit Nepal and Tibet, the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) has launched an Emergency Relief Fund to provide immediate support to affected communities. This fund assists individuals and families impacted by natural disasters, emergency situations at FPMT centers and projects, and other urgent crises requiring swift aid.
FPMT are currently utilising this fund to raise relief funds for those impacted by the flooding that occurred on August 26 along the Bhote Koshi River on the Nepal-Tibet border. The floodwaters have swept away entire villages, homes, roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure across Rasuwa and neighboring districts. The scale of this disaster is still unfolding, with many people remaining unaccounted for and entire communities displaced.
FPMT is working directly with Kopan Monastery to identify those most in need and help ensure that support reaches affected families directly.
