Mother’s Day

May 12, 2025

Traditionally, Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate love and gratitude. But for many, the occasion is also a day of sorrow. 💙

It carries the weight of loss for those whose children live on only in memory and for those grieving the absence of their own mother or mother figure.

We honour those who hold their children in their hearts instead of their arms, and the children who carry the love of a mother figure who is no longer with them.

In the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, broken pottery is mended with gold transforming its fractures into a mark of beauty rather than something to hide. Rather than trying to erase the cracks left by loss, preserve them. Illuminate them.

Grief is a journey without an endpoint. At Karuna, we stand beside you with compassion and support, holding space for reflection, healing, and kindness.

Though we may never be the same, grief shapes us and carries us forward in new, meaningful and beautiful ways. 🕯️🌷
