Carers Week 2026

This Carers Week, we pause to recognise and thank the thousands of people across

Queensland who provide care, support, comfort and advocacy for someone they love.

At Karuna, we have the privilege of supporting carers every day. We know that caring for a family member, partner or friend living with a life-limiting illness can be both meaningful and challenging. Carers often juggle complex responsibilities while navigating uncertainty, grief, loss and their own wellbeing needs.

During Carers Week, we acknowledge not only current carers but also bereaved carers whose caring journey might have come to an end. The love, commitment and compassion shown by carers leaves a lasting impact and deserves to be recognised and celebrated.

We are also very grateful to have a dedicated Carer Support Services team, who help to ensure carers feel seen, supported and connected. Through counselling, coaching, peer support and wellbeing programs, the team provides practical and emotional support to help carers navigate their unique journeys.

Our sincere thanks also go to Wellways Carer Gateway for their ongoing partnership and support. Together, we are able to provide services that help carers feel less isolated, more confident and better equipped to care for both their loved ones and themselves.

We look forward to being part of a number of Carers Week activities and celebrations taking place across the state this week and to continuing our commitment to supporting carers throughout the year.
