In June, we had the immense honour of welcoming Geshe Tenzin Zopa to Karuna Hospice Services.
Following his beautiful teachings on compassion as a part the Mani Retreat lead by Ven. Tsultrim at Chenrezig Institute on the Sunshine Coast, Geshe Tenzin Zopa very kindly visited the staff at Karuna.
Geshe-la was born in the remote Himalayan region of Tsum valley in Nepal and was ordained at the age of 9 in Kopan Monastery Kathmandu, by the late Great Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog. He was also the focal point of the fascinating award winning documentary film titled ”Unmistaken Child” which chronicles the search for the reincarnation of his master Geshe Lama Konchog.
Since 2000, he has been actively teaching in FPMT centres around the world as a visiting and resident teacher. Geshe-la is currently touring a number of centres across Australia.
