The following are just a selection of the wonderful thankyou messages that we have received since His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s visit to Karuna on the 13th June 2007. If you have your own messages of thanks that you would like to add, please leave a comment on this post.
Karuna would also like to take this opportunity to express a warm thanks to everyone who helped out on the day. We couldn’t have done it without you.
My warmest congratulations to you and all the wonderful Karuna staff and volunteers for what I know has been an incredible investment of effort and skill to make this ‘once in a lifetime event’ come to life. It was a humbling experience to share the loving and kind energy of the event and to reflect on how Karuna has grown as an organisation while retaining its essence. I’m certain it is only the beginning of greater things to come. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of yesterday’s proceedings, it was truly moving and enlightening. –U.H.
Thanks so much to each and every person at Karuna for the fantastic job you all did in bringing his Holiness to the centre. It was a truly great day in every way. Thanks also for your wonderful kindness in allowing us the opportunity to help with the Stupa and especially for looking after all of our needs. It was a pleasure to work with such a harmonious, helpful and appreciative group of people. What you are all doing is so beneficial. –Garrey
Well Congratulations!!!! Yesterday was a very special day for us all and very moving. I just can’t imagine how special it was for you. Everybody did their part so well and I don’t know just how we should go about thanking them although just being there would have been reward enough. The Channel 10 news had a big section on HHDL and most of it was set in and about Karuna. Everything looked superb. –Peter
Congratulations to the Karuna team for a spectacular day. From Susan the MC extraordinaire to the welcoming personnel and the whole atmosphere that you all created. Such events demand a great deal from all involved and I hope you all feel rewarded by the success and good will clearly apparent today. With great respect from someone proud to call you friend –Cath
June 13, 2007 Boondall Entertainment Centre …… A large empty space. Then suddenly so many people. So much brightness, laughter, smiles and open hearts. So many people, fifteen thousand. What a beautiful multi-textured smoothly flowing organism they became under our interconnected multi-directionalism!! We had become an organism too. I have such colorful, lighted memories of my volunteering journey to the climactical event where His Holiness said, “Please don’t get your expectations too high. I have nothing to offer. Only a lifetime of experience. And common sense.” I felt myself relax after an initial internal automatic - “What the?”
I recall His Holiness’ energy grow as he sat up straight, looked into the camera, smiled and instantly transformed into a youthful, sprightly, cheeky, real and overtly lovely human - I felt I wanted to take him home. I have taken this gift into my heart where I now hear music playing. Blessed are we!!! He spoke such simple truths. So much common sense that I am sure some may have walked away thinking they knew all that, so what was the reason they came along. For me, I am finding it was the words and the whole totality of what occurred including………..well………… everything. (!)
After I left the BEC, I sang in my car all the way to the Mater Private Hospital where my sister was undergoing cancer recurrence surgery. I arranged the huge bunch of white roses and lillies given to me from the room His Holiness had been in. The room filled with fragrance and magic. She will be with those flowers while she begins her physical and psychic healing in that room for 10 days. I awoke this morning to the sunlight on the plants dappling lightly my view. I feel the miracle of life deep in my centre, in that stillness. I feel the wholeness of experience and my place in it. Today a young child’s shopping centre crawl blew my mind away like a leaf in the wind. –Russell
